Conservative Cause: by Dave Udall

March 4th, 2011:

Why did I create this blog entitled the: Conservative Cause?

My name is Dave Udall and I have formulated so many political opinions my entire life that it was high time that I created a blog to support the social and the fiscal conservative causes in the USA and the world. I started out at the young age of nine years old watching the Kennedy-Nixon debates in 1960. I was hooked, and I have been tracking politics ever since.

My father, E. Earl Udall, was a city manager and politically conservative, especially fiscally conservative. I do not believe that the cities he managed ever raised municipal taxes under his watch. My grand father, John H. Udall, was one of the early conservative Republican mayors of Phoenix, AZ. My Uncle Nicholas Udall was also the mayor of Phoenix in the 1950's. Nick Udall helped write the constitution for the city of Phoenix.

We also have other noted family members who are on the liberal side of the political spectrum who are quite renowned, both today and in years past. I am from the conservative side of the family and I am proud of it.

Every day I see things in the news about Obama and his cronies, liberal friends, and allies that bother me a lot. Just the other day I saw that Obama ordered the DOJ, Department of Justice, to stop defending DOMA, the Defense of Marriage Act, in court. This Act was signed into law by Bill Clinton in 1996.

Here is my email/letter to my congressman of which I also copied to my national Utah Senators, Senator Mike Lee and Senator Orrin Hatch:
“Dear Congressman Chaffetz,

We are outraged at the Obama administration's plan to not defend the DOMA Defense of Marriage Act, signed into law in 1996 by Pres. Bill Clinton. Obama has decided to abdicate his responsibility to uphold this law. As Newt G. said of recent, in so many words, that Obama is striking down a federal law all on his own- against the congress's wishes which is unconstitutional, since he has sworn under oath to uphold the federal laws. So as a conservative Republican, what is your plan to defend DOMA?

Note: This abdication by Obama has the far reaching effects to perhaps cause churches who oppose homosexual marriages to either get in line with gay marriages or go under as churches and shut down as a church. This abdication by Obama could eventually imperil freedom of religion in the USA since the federal government is now so involved with marriage in the USA, and gays will no doubt put pressure on churches to grant them a legal civil marriage. What do you think and what are your plans to head off Obama and the Justice Dept. and the gay community if in fact, you agree with me?

Sincerely,

Dave Udall and Laurel Udall”

Note to the reader: This is the beginning of my thoughts, opinions and political commentaries on this blog. I hope that I can persuade a few people here and there to the conservative side and I hope to inspire and strengthen my fellow conservatives in their own worthy resolutions to get our country back on a solid foundation on both the fiscal and social issues of our day.

You will find me always supporting the Constitution of the United States, and those conservative citizens who are fighting to uphold it across this great nation. And like Justice Scalia of the Supreme Court said in so many words: The constitution is not an evolving document, to be construed beyond the original intent of its creators, the founding fathers that attended and put input into the US constitution at the original convention. While many liberals today think that the Constitution is a living document that can be loosely interpreted and that many things with in it are out dated and should be discarded.

I also do not, nor will I ever support the ever growing concentration of power to the federal government and to Washington, DC, as many liberals, such as Harry Reid, former speaker Pelosi and Obama want to have happen.

You will also never find me supporting any form of socialism nor any form of communism nor any form of tyrannical rule through out the USA or world. You will instead always find me in support of the conservative cause for freedom, free enterprise, free speech, positive humanitarian efforts, family values and the private ownership of property.
